7 Superior Individual Performance Awards Alex Snell, Drew Comstock, Allie Garofalo, Shawn Hepola, Sadie Raap, Coen Vogel, and Jackson Rott. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FULL CAST AND CREW ON THEIR AWARDS. The StoryCharley and Jack love Amy and Kitty. Amy is about to go away, and Charley thinks he may miss his opportunity to ask for her hand. Then he discovers that his aunt, a Brazilian woman he has never met before, is coming for lunch. How fortuitous! Now the aunt can chaperone while the boys ask the girls to marry them. Naturally, things don't go as planned. The boys soon discover that Donna Lucia, the aunt, is not coming today, and their friend, Lord Fancourt Babberley (Babbs) shows up. He is convinced to pretend to be Donna Lucia, and a wild afternoon of mistaken identity, young love, old love, angry uncles, and one beautiful, exotic aunt ensues. In the end, just as it looks like Uncle Stephen is going to ruin everything, the real Donna Lucia steps in and graciously puts an end to the madness. All the lovers end up together and happy, except for Uncle Stephen.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Written by Brandon Thomas, CHARLEY’S AUNT was first presented in 1892 in England. It was an instant hit and ran 1466 performances. In 1893, the play crossed the Atlantic to arrive on Broadway, again a big hit. In fact, CHARLEY’S AUNT has been performed across the globe for over 100 years and has always enchanted audiences. The uproarious people-pleasing farce has been adapted to film – both silent in 1915 and sound in 1930 – with the most famous cinematic version starring Jack Benny in 1941. The play even became a Spanish zarzuela in 1897 and a Broadway musical called “Where’s Charley” in 1948 with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and starring Ray Bolger (remember “Once in Love with Amy?”). Of course, such an audience favorite has also been adapted for television. This classic farce is a staple of high schools, colleges, and community theaters around the world! THE CAST OF 10
