Audition Guidelines
PRIOR TO AUDITIONS
1. Join the Google Classroom page for the desired production.
2. Go to the Audition form classwork page to find the online Audition Form. Complete the form online and click "turn in" just like you would for a competed assignment in a class.
AT THE AUDITIONS
1. Come in and sit down. We know you are excited but as directors, we are looking for actors who display appropriate behaviors off the stage.
2. Do not distract while others are auditioning. Directors tend to take note of those who are a distraction at auditions as that often means they will behave the same way at practices.
3. BE PREPARED. It should not sound like this is the first time you are reading the script.
6. Know the tips for a more successful audition and make sure you have checked to pronunciation of words you are unfamiliar with. If you are not sure, ask Mr. McCafferty.
7. Auditions are open to ALL CHS student.

Tips for a more successful audition
FOLLOWING THESE TIPS AND GUIDELINES WILL INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING A ROLE IN THIS SHOW.
- Read the whole script ahead of time! (Can be found on the Google Classroom page for the desired play)
- Practice reading scenes that contain the desired character so you are less nervous when it is your turn to audition.
- Practice for more than ONE role. Do not limit yourself to being prepared for one role. The directors may see you as a better fit for another role and you want to be prepared to show them what you can do.
- Dress comfortably for the audition. Wear shoes you can move around in. Avoid tight clothing that will inhibit your movement.
- BE POLITE to EVERYONE (Directors, actors, stagehands, etc.)
- Be professional. Come to your audition with one goal: to get a part, and act that way. Do not goof around before, during, or after the audition. Directors are looking for students with self control.
- Show up early. Come to the audition immediately after school and bring all paperwork (audition form). Having the form filled out ahead of time saves everyone time at auditions.
